2008 Olympics
Back when I was a little kid I never really cared about what happens in the news, but as I grew older I realized that if you look in the right places, it’s very important to know what is going on in the world. So that’s when I started watching the news and took an interest in one particular event: the Olympics.
To be honest, I don’t really care about the sports too much as I do learning about other cultures. There were some things that I never knew about the world, like the fact that there’s 204 countries. There are over 11,000 athletes in the world, and from the countries they range from 1 athlete to over 400. My dad was excited that Manny Pacquiao was the flag bearer for the Philippines. XD
I didn’t watch it for the first hour, but I started watching at the amazing light show part where 2,008 men were wearing neon costumes and coming together to make a bird. That was pretty awesome, and my favorite part. I also loved the costumes as well for each country. The ceremony was truly beautiful.
Watching the Olympics is an amazing and cultural experience. Athletes come from around the world to get together and have some friendly competition. Thank you Greece for starting this wonderful tradition. I’ve learned a few facts here and there from mythology units in english and history class, but nothing beats watching, or even better: being at the Olympics.
There are some things worth watching on TV after all. I can’t wait to see what will happen next. I wish most media would be as interesting as this.

Wasn’t that amazing, I couldn’t believe what i was seeing and then when the man lit the torch in the air it was so different from anything I had ever seen at the Olympics

When I was a kid, I always enjoyed the opening ceremony of the Olympics. I love love love love the opening ceremony. But what sucks is that, on the TV channels I have “THEY DIDN’T WANT TO SHOW IT LIVE!” that made me very angry.
I think there are enough of an amount of people who would wake up a little early in the morning to watch such a great ceremony LIVE. But they just didn’t do it. Not in my state at least. What greedy people to care only for money because they don’t think people will wake up in the morning to watch it.
TT___TT I bet I missed out on so many things. I guess I can just youtube it later.

I’m not quite fond of the Olympics although when I was much younger I was quite engrossed in it. I missed the opening ceremony but everyone said it was quite lovely.
